About Me:

My name is Lori Ford and I am the snuggler behind Swag Dog Training. I was born in Klamath Falls, but raised in Grants Pass, OR. I have always had animals in my life from dogs , cats , small animals to large farm animals like horses and goats. I started dog training at a very young age with my father. I remember he used to let me help him teach our dogs all their basic commands. I knew even then that I wanted to work with animals for the rest of my life.

In 2000 I received a small golden bundle of joy that opened my eyes to just how much I loved working with dogs. I started reading, watching, reading and attending any type of dog training things that I could. I joined Dog 4-H and spent four years with the club called Pooch Paw Raiders. Under the guidance of dog trainers and 4-H Leaders Nancy Rand, Evelyn Belts and Don Stuart, I learned how to train not only my dog, but to help others with theirs. I went to the Oregon State Fair all four years and I ended my 4-H career as President of the club and with Jared , my dog, in Open Obedience. In those years I also spent my time helping my friends and family train their dogs and pet sitting while they were away.

Out of high school I started attending Rogue Community College and started training other people's dogs for money and working as a kennel attendant at a local Vet Clinic. It wasn't until later 2008 that I decided to turn this into an actual business instead of just a side job/hobby.

My goal is to be the person that a pet owner can feel safe and confident leaving their pets with.
